Three Rivers Race 2009
This year we modified our spectating of the Three Rivers. Avoiding the chaos of the lunchtime start we took our time and spent the late afternoon watching the carnage at Potter bridge.
Henry spent the first half an hour quietly muttering "oh dear, oh dear, oh dear" over and over as more and more boats fiddled with expensive bits of gear and near misses became increasingly common.
Unfortunately we didn't see any spectactular crashes but there was plenty of action and ice cream to keep the crowds amused.

On the swings!
Last summer we decided to only post pictures backed with radiant blue skies. This was to create a slightly unfair impression of England being a country basking in delicious summery weather without any cares.
This summer we really don't have a choice, the weather of late has been ridiculously generous and, like many others, we have grabbed every opportunity to get out there and enjoy ourselves.
Anyone who has ever tried to capture that 'child on the swings' moment will, I hope, appreciate the following shots.
